From the 1st through the 9th, flash flooding damaged 1,000 homes around the county, doing 1.7 million dollars damage to roads and bridges, and an additional 760,00 dollars to clean up the damage. Damage to homes is estimated at 5 million dollars.
Beginning at 305 AM, low water crossings were closed due to high water across the western part of the county. By 536 AM, numerous county and farm to market roads were closed, especially around Justin, Argyle, Ponder, and Krum. Many roads remained closed at 615 PM.
Three homes were flooded, and at least 50 county and farm to market roads closed due to flooding. At 315 AM there was a high water rescue just south of Aledo. The Horseshoe Bend housing community had to be evacuated at 954 AM. Many roads remained closed at 635 PM.
Several roads were closed due to flooding around Boyd, and by 1027 AM, many roads around Boyd were closed. These roads and highways remained closed as of 329 PM, and at 900 PM, barricades remained on the highway between Boyd and Springtown. Numerous county roads and bridges were completely washed out and several homes were flooded from the 6th to the 9th.
Five homes were flooded west of Azle near Ash Creek.
Water over Highway 22 one mile west of Cranfils Gap.
Highway 114 between Bridgeport and Paradise was covered with water, and there were numerous closures on Highway 199.
By 715 AM Peak Road and Bob White Road south of downtown flooded. At 718 AM, there was ahigh water rescue on the M&M Ranch Road 2 miles northeast of Granbury. By 900 AM, numerous roads were closed in and around Granbury. Highway 51 at Squaw Creek was covered with four feet of water.The Wheeler Branch Apartments were flooded.
Water was rising into homes aound Eagle Mountain Lake. By 1033 AM, flooding was occurring in Pelican Bay.
A power plant employee reported numerous roads around the power plant were covered with water.As of 945 PM, many roads around the Comanche Peak power plant remained closed and barricaded due to high water.
Low water crossings around Stephenville were closed due to high water.
CR 1120 was under water at Steel Creek, and 7 miles west southwest of Clifton, water was over the road at Gary Creek, and over Highway 174 between Morgan and Kopperl.
Water was over FM 218 and by 1040 AM, water was reported over FM 574 near Pecan Bayou. By 1244 PM, numerous county roads near Star and Moline were closed.
Two streets in town were barricaded due to flooding.
Water was over several roads around Muenster. By 228 pm numerous county roads were flooded, and a bridge was washed out on CR 411. At 715 PM, secondary roads remained closed across the western part of the county.
County roads remained closed due to high water.
Water was over Highway 221 near Gibson Creek.
Water was 6 inches deep at Alsbury and Interstate 35.
Flooding continued 5 miles south of Granbury.
Six inches of water covered Interstate 35 near Highway 174. and water was over FM 1902, 2 miles north of Alvarado at 348 PM.
Roads were closed between highwat 190 and Highway 281. More flooding was reported south of Highwat 190 and west of Lampasas.
Roads were closed in Northwest and Northeast Dallas, and water was over a road 2 miles northwest of Irving due to high water.
Water was over FM 182 in Turnersville.
Flooding occurred until mid-evening between Boyd and Springtown.
Water was over roads in Northeast Arlington.
FM 1644 was barricaded due to high water.
By 956 pm roads and underpasses were flooded around Groesbeck.
Numerous roads around Cameron and Rockdale were closed due to flooding.
County roads were flooded across the county.
Farm to Market roads were closed south of Groesbeck and 2 miles south of Mexia.
Low water crossings near town were closed.
