Four swimmers off Agat were swept up in strong currents. Three made it back to shore, but a 14-year-old girl was unable to get back, and drowned.

AREA SYNOPTIC DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TIYAN GU 1 AM GUAM LST TUE JUN 22 2004 WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC BETWEEN EQUATOR AND 25N FROM 130E TO 180. A MONSOON TROUGH EXTENDS FROM 15N130E TO A WEAK CIRCULATION NEAR 12N147E THEN EAST-SOUTHEASTWARD TO 8N167E WHERE IT MEETS WITH A SURFACE TROUGH WHICH CONTINUES TO THE EQUATOR AT 177E. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE FOUND IN THREE AREAS. THE FIRST IS BETWEEN 9N AND 14N FROM 130E TO 144E WHICH INCLUDES NORTHERN PORTIONS OF YAP STATE. THE SECOND IS BETWEEN 7N AND 11N FROM 146E TO 153E WHICH INCLUDES NORTHERN CHUUK STATE. THE THIRD IS BETWEEN THE EQUATOR AND 3N FROM 157E TO 173E WHICH IS SOUTH OF POHNPEI AND KOSRAE AND THE REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS. NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE FOUND BETWEEN 11N AND 16N FROM 143E TO 148E WHICH INCLUDES THE MARIANAS. THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE BEING ENHANCED BY A COMBINATION OF THE POORLY ORGANIZED CIRCULATION AND AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW NEAR 25N147E. THE UPPER-LEVEL LOW IS ALSO CREATING SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS NORTH OF POHNPEI WITHIN 60 MILES OF A LINE FROM 14N154E TO 10N161E.
