.SYNOPSIS...SOUTHWEST FLOW ALOFT OVER UTAH THIS WEEK WITH MOISTURE
SLOWLY DECREASING OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND EAST AFTER TUESDAY.

.DISCUSSION...LOW AMPLITUDE RIDGE OVER THE PLAINS WITH A LOW PRESSURE
SYSTEM MOVING INTO THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. MOST OF THE STATE OVER A
HALF INCH OF PW. DEEPER MOISTURE OVER EXTREME SOUTHERN UTAH. SOME
CONVECTION THIS AFTERNOON...BUT THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT ISOLATED
OUTSIDE OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS. MOST ACTIVITY WILL BE
DIURNAL WITH ONLY A FEW THUNDERSTORMS EMERGING OVERNIGHT.

LOW WORKS INLAND OVERNIGHT INCREASING SOUTHWEST FLOW OVER THE
FORECAST AREA. DRIER AIR WILL MOVE IN FROM THE WEST DURING THE DAY
TOMORROW WITH MUCH OF THE MOISTURE AND CONVECTIVE DEVELOPMENT
REMAINING IN THE SAME AREAS AS TODAY. TEMPERATURES COOL A LITTLE AS
THE THERMAL RIDGE IS PUSHED EAST AS WELL.

AS THE LOW CONTINUES TO MOVE INLAND...MOISTURE IS SWEPT EAST OF THE
FORECAST AREA WEDNESDAY BY STRONG SOUTHWEST FLOW ALOFT. THE LOW MOVES
INTO NORTHEAST NEVADA BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON WITH A BAROCLINIC ZONE
SETTING UP OVER NORTHWEST UTAH. SOME CONVECTION IS POSSIBLE CLOSE
TO THE COLD AIR POCKET AND LOW LEVEL BAROCLINIC ZONE ASSOCIATED WITH
THE LOW. ALSO EXPECT A LITTLE COOLING OVER NORTHWEST UTAH WITH LITTLE
CHANGE ELSEWHERE. DO NOT SEE MUCH CHANGE THROUGH FRIDAY AS THE LOW
REMAINS OVER NORTHEAST NEVADA.

THE LOW WILL EVENTUALLY LIFT NORTH THROUGH THE WEEKEND WITH DRIER
CONDITIONS AND WARMER TEMPERATURES RETURNING TO NORTHWEST UTAH.
