THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH WILL BE EXTENDED THRU FRIDAY AFTERNOON FOR THE
HILL COUNTRY AND MUCH OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS.
A DANGEROUS FLOODING SITUATION CONTINUES ACROSS THE HILL COUNTRY AND
ADJACENT AREAS OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS AS NUMEROUS STREAMS AND RIVERS
REMAIN IN FLOOD. ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL RESULT IN RAPID RUNOFF
DUE TO SATURATED SOILS.
THE UPPER LEVEL TROF/SHEAR AXIS REMAINS NEARLY STATIONARY FROM NEAR
EL INDIO TO ABILENE...WITH LITTLE CHANGE IN LOCATION EXPECTED OVER
THE NEXT 24 HOURS. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAVE ONCE AGAIN FIRED
IN THE TROPICAL AIRMASS THANKS TO DAYTIME HEATING. THESE STORMS
WILL STREAM NORTHWARD AND TRAIN ACROSS THE WATCH AREA THIS AFTERNOON
AND EVENING...GENERALLY EAST OF A LINE FROM HARPER TO SABINAL AND
COTULLA.
THE VORT MAX CURRENTLY LOCATED OVER DEEP SOUTH TEXAS IS FCST BY THE
MESOETA TO MOVE NORTHWARD THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT. THE RESULT WILL
BE ANOTHER MCS DEVELOPING AND IMPACTING THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH AREA.
MODELS STILL TRY TO DRIFT THIS DISTURBANCE WESTWARD BUT THIS IS HAS
NOT OCCURRED DUE TO THE TRAPPING UPPER RIDGE TO THE NORTH. IT IS
MORE LIKELY THIS UPPER LEVEL FEATURE WILL SLOWLY WEAKEN AND RAIN
ITSELF OUT.

I-35 CORRIDOR.The Austin/San Antonio radar (KEWX), 59 km away, was scanning. The volume nearest the first event began at 07:58 UTC.
6 flash flood. Local standard time, as filed.
General rainfall of 2 to 3 inches over the western part of the county, with isolated totals of up to 5 inches, caused flash flooding to redevelop in the early morning hours. The flash flooding ended in the mid morning.
An additional 2 inches of rain over the south part of the county, with isolated totals of up to 5 inches, redeveloped flash flooding through the early morning hours.
General 2 inch rainfall over the western part of the county, with isolated totals of up to 4 inches, resulted in additional flash flooding that continued through the early morning hours.
Two additional inches of rain fell over the western part of Travis County. Isolated totals reached near 4 inches. This produced another round of flash flooding over the western part of the county through the mid morning hours. The city of Austin extends a boating ban to lake Travis. The ban was already in effect for Town Lake.
General 1 to 2 inches of rain over the western part of Caldwell County caused flash flooding through the morning.
An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain in the Schertz-Marion-Cibolo area in the western part of Guadalupe County, redeveloped brief flash flooding near sunrise.
