Thunderstorm downburst winds estimated at 60 to 70 mph caused considerable damage and widespread power outages in northern Stark County. Hardest hit were the Hartville, Uniontown and North Canton areas where hundreds of trees were downed. Over 50 trees were downed and several cars damaged in Uniontown alone. 60 to 80 power poles and 35 trees were toppled along State Route 619 near Hartville. Numerous homes and buildings were damaged by trees and limbs. A camper trailer was crushed by a tree near Uniontown.

A 61 mph thunderstorm wind gust was measured at the Akron-Canton Regional Airport in southern Summit County. Many trees were downed in nearby Green, Springfield and Lake Townships.

A thunderstorm downburst produced a six mile damage path in Portage County. A 67 mph wind gust was measured in Ravenna with gusts along the remainder of the damage path estimated to be in excess of 60 mph. The damage path was oriented from southwest to northeast and began near Suffield in Suffield Township. The most significant damage occurred further northeast in Rootstown and Ravenna Townships. Especially hard hit was the City of Ravenna where over 100 trees were downed. Hundreds of additional trees were downed elsewhere along the damage path. Two mobile homes were destroyed on the north side of Ravenna. An occupant of one of the mobile homes sustained minor injuries. A home was heavily damaged in Rootstown Township with two other homes suffering minor damage. In addition, several vehicles were either destroyed or damaged.

Thunderstorm winds downed many trees in Kingsville and Kingsville Township. A woman was trapped in her car by a fallen tree. She was uninjured. A house was slightly damaged.
