A "flash flood" caused by breaking ice dams, developed Tuesday morning along a small portion of the Matanuska River. In the Richie subdivision, Mile 64 Glenn Highway, on resident reported that his family lost thousands of dollars in personal property stored outside under fabric shelters. Other residents said that this breakup has been the most dramatic since at least 1980.
