Blizzard conditions were reached at the Chukchi Sea Coast community of Kivalina as wind gusts between 35 and 50 mph resulted in blowing snow. Visibility was reported by Kivalina City Officials as low as 100 feet for several hours.

Blizzard conditions were reached at the Chukchi Sea Coast community of Kivalina as wind gusts between 35 and 50 mph resulted in blowing snow. Visibility was reported by Kivalina City Officials as low as 100 feet for several hours. These conditions resulted within a tight pressure gradient created by high pressure building over Siberia.
