THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP THROUGH EASTERN OREGON AND
SOUTHEASTERN WASHINGTON THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...MAINLY OVER THE
MOUNTAIN AND FOOTHILLS. RADAR RETURNS ARE SUPPORTING THE POSSIBILITY
OF SOME CELLS BECOMING SEVERE AS THE AFTERNOON HEATING PROGRESSES.
CONVECTIVE PARAMETERS IN NORTHEAST OREGON AND SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON
ALL POINT TO SUCH SEVERE DEVELOPMENT. SOUTHWEST FLOW ALOFT WILL
CONTINUE TO MOVE THESE STORMS TO THE NORTHEAST TONIGHT. A COLD FRONT
WILL PASS THROUGH EASTERN OREGON TONIGHT...AHEAD OF A WELL DEVELOPED
TROUGH WHICH WILL MOVE ONSHORE TONIGHT AND THROUGH OUR AREA
SATURDAY. THE OFFSHORE TROUGH...WITH A COLD MOIST AIRMASS...WILL
BRING WIDESPREAD LIGHT RAIN. ALSO EXPECT BREEZY WINDS TO DEVELOP
WITH THE JET IN THE BASE AND LEADING EDGE OF THE TROUGH. UPPER LEVEL
WINDS WILL BECOME ZONAL SUNDAY FOLLOWING THE TROUGH PASSAGE...WITH
ANOTHER DISTURBANCE MOVING IN SUNDAY WITH MOSTLY CHANCE
POPS.  FARMER

.EXTENDED...ZONAL FLOW WILL SET UP OVER THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST DURING
THE FIRST HALF OF THE EXTENDED. THIS WILL PRODUCE A CHANCE OF PRECIP
EACH DAY. SOME RIDGING BUILDS IN THE EASTERN PACIFIC AND MOVES
INLAND LATE WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY FOR SOME IMPROVEMENT. THIS WILL

CENTRAL OREGON TO SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON...

A COLD FRONT WILL CROSS THE CASCADE MOUNTAINS THIS EVENING. AHEAD OF
THIS FRONT AMPLE MOISTURE AND HEATING WILL LEAD TO VERY UNSTABLE
CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. SOME OF THESE STORMS MAY
BECOME SEVERE WITH A POSSIBILITY OF LARGE HAIL...GUSTY WINDS AND
HEAVY RAIN.

THE AREA OF POSSIBLE SEVERE WEATHER INCLUDES THE GRANDE RONDE AND
JOHN DAY VALLEYS...THE OCHOCO...BLUE AND WALLOWA MOUNTAINS...AS WELL
AS THE FOOTHILLS OF THE BLUE MOUNTAINS. WEATHER SPOTTERS AND
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR SEVERE
WEATHER AND PASS ALONG ANY STORM REPORTS TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE.
