AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION...UPDATED NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PADUCAH KY 405 AM CDT FRI AUG 31 2001 GIVEN LASTEST RADAR TRENDS CLOSE TO ZONE ISSUANCE TIME...HAVE OPTED TO REDUCE THE LIKELY SHOWER/THUNDERSTORM CHANCES TO SCATTERED FOR TODAY OVER ALL ZONES EXCEPT THE EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN COUNTIES. PREVIOUS DISCUSSION: MAIN FORECAST PROBLEM REMAINS POPS FROM TODAY THROUGH THIS EVENING. MODELS TEND TO AGREE FAIRLY WELL ON TIMING OF SURFACE/UPPER LEVEL FEATURES DURING THE NEXT 24 TO 48 HOURS. COLD FRONT NOW OVER NORTHERN IL WILL SWEEP SOUTHWARD TODAY TO NEAR THE OHIO RIVER BY EARLY EVENING.
