A NUMBER OF CONVECTIVE SYSTEMS ARE EVIDENT ACROSS THE DAKOTAS THIS
SATURDAY EVENING IN CONNECTION WITH WARM ADVECTION ACROSS A BROAD
THICKNESS RIDGE. MPX CWA EXPERIENCED A MUCH WEAKER VARIATION ON THIS
LATE THIS AFTERNOON.  FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE NIGHT...ETA/RUC
MODELS DEVELOP A 35-40KT LOW LEVEL JET THAT PUSHES INTO SOUTHWEST
MINNESOTA AROUND 09Z. CONVECTION WILL LIKELY ORGANIZE ON THE NOSE OF
THIS FEATURE AND PUSH SOUTHEAST ALONG THE OLD CONVECTIVE BOUNDARY.
WILL MODIFY EXISTING FORECAST PACKAGE FOR THIS EVENTUALITY.

VERY UNSETTLED PERIOD APPEARS TO BE SHAPING UP ACROSS THE NORTHERN
PLAINS INTO THE UPPER MIDWEST OVER THE NEXT 5 DAYS. BOTH THE ETA AND
AVN DEVELOP A VERY STRONG PATTERN OF THICKNESS DIFFLUENCE WHILE THE
ETA DEVELOPS SEVERAL EPISODES OF STRONG CONVECTIVE INSTABILITY WITH
MAXIMA IN CAPE BETWEEN 3000-5000 J/KG. WITH MID TROPOSPHERIC WIND
STRENGTH EXPECTED TO BE FAIRLY STRONG...THE OVERALL SYNOPTIC PATTERN
WOULD APPEAR TO SUPPORT SEVERAL DAMAGING DERECHO EVENTS.  THE
PATTERN FINALLY PUSHES EAST OF THE AREA AFTER THURSDAY.
