FORECAST FOCUS WILL BE ON THE CONVECTIVE THREAT TONIGHT.

MODELS IN AGREEMENT WITH BIG PICTURE...BUT HAVE MANY TIMING
DIFFERENCES...AND ARE AGAIN NOT PAINTING THE SAME PICTURE WITH THE
QPF. THE ETA AND AVN ARE CLOSER TODAY THAN YESTERDAY WITH THEIR
QPF/S THROUGH 12Z WED. HAVE FOLLOWED A COMBINATION OF ETA AND AVN...
WITH MORE EMPHASIS ON ETA.

AIRMASS DESTABILIZING AHEAD OF COLD FRONT THIS AFTERNOON. LAPS
SHOWING LI/S DOWN TO -4 TO -8C OVER NORTHWEST HALF OF MN CWA...WITH
CAPES OF 1500-2500J/KG IN THAT AREA. CONTINUAL FEED OF THETA-E AIR
AND VORT MOVING ALONG INTERNATIONAL BORDER TO PROVIDE AMPLE
LIFT FOR THUNDERSTORMS TONIGHT...SOME SEVERE. BEST 0-6KM SHEAR OCCURS
THIS EVENING ACCORDING TO THE ETA...AND IS FROM 30 TO 40 KNOTS. WILL
GO WITH BEST CHANCE FOR STORMS ACROSS THE NORTH...AND TAPER THEM OFF
SOME SOUTH.

THE THETA-E RIDGE AT 850MB DROPS INTO NORTHWEST WISCONSIN
OVERNIGHT...WITH A WIND OF 40 KNOTS FEEDING INTO THAT AREA. STILL
THINK THERE IS A HIGH CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS MAKING IT INTO
NORTHWEST WISCONSIN OVERNIGHT...BUT PERHAPS NOT AS HIGH AS EARLIER
THOUGHT IN SOUTHEAST ZONES.

FRONT SLOWER TO MOVE OUT AND THREAT FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL REMAIN
THROUGH THE DAY IN NORTHWEST WISCONSIN...NEAR THE FRONT. FURTHER
NORTHWEST...500MB THERMAL TROUGH AND WAVE WILL KEEP CHANCE FOR
SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS IN THE FORECAST.

HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN WEDNESDAY NIGHT...BRINGING AN END TO RAIN
CHANCES FROM NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST. GRADUAL CLEARING TO OCCUR AS
WELL...BUT MORE SO ON THURSDAY.
