AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LOUISVILLE KY 300 AM EDT THU JUNE 21 2001 LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVING EAST INTO CENTRAL KENTUCKY ALONG AND AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT. SOME STORMS EXPECTED TO BE SEVERE. SOME SHOWERS EXPECTED TO PERSIST BEHIND FRONT AND WILL LEAVE A CHANCE OF SHOWERS IN OVERNIGHT. GREATEST THREAT OF SHOWERS WILL BE OVER THE NORTHERN PARTS OF THE FORECAST AREA WITH ONLY A FEW SHOWERS ACROSS THE SOUTH. MODELS GENERALLY SIMILAR...ENDING SHOWERS OVERNIGHT...THEN SLOWLY DECREASING CLOUDS FRIDAY AND HIGH BEGINS TO BUILD INTO LOWER OHIO VALLEY. SATELLITE SHOWS EXTENSIVE CLOUD AREA BEHIND FRONT AND TIME SECTIONS SHOWING HIGHER HUMIDITIES IN THE LOWER LEVELS. WILL KEEP CLOUDS ACROSS MOST OF AREA WITH SOME DECREASE LATE AFTERNOON. EXPECT PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY. TEMPERATURES WILL BE COOLER ON FRIDAY WITH HIGHS IN THE MID AND UPPER 70S. THEN SLOW WARMING TREND SETS IN AND HAVE MADE ONLY MINOR MODIFICATIONS TO MOS. .SDF...NONE. SCHOLZ
