00Z MAPS HAD 250MB JET ACROSS NORTHERN OREGON INTO THE LOWER GREAT
LAKES WITH 100KT CORE PUSHING SHORTWAVE TROUGH THROUGH THE DAKOTAS.
WESTERN CONUS RIDGING BEGINNING TO TAKE HOLD WITH ALL UPPER AIR
STATIONS FROM DDC WEST RECORDING 20M OR GREATER HEIGHT RISES.
CENTRAL CONUS LOW LEVEL BAROCLINIC ZONES BECOMING QUITE ILL DEFINED
HOWEVER 850MB DEWPOINTS REMAIN IN THE MID TEENS CELSIUS FROM
NEBRASKA SOUTH. LATEST SURFACE DATA PUTS FRONT FROM NORTHEASTERN
COLORADO THROUGH CENTRAL KANSAS WITH MID TO UPPER 60F DEWPOINTS OVER
MUCH OF THE HIGH PLAINS. STRATUS FROM DIURNAL COOLING WAS
OVERSPREADING THE CWA.

MORNING STRATUS AND FOG SHOULD BURN AWAY AS LOWER LEVELS HEAT UP.
WEAK UPSLOPE FLOW AND EARLY CLOUD COVER SHOULD KEEP HIGHS A BIT
BELOW THEIR 850MB TEMP SUGGESTED POTENTIAL AND GOING FORECAST HAS
THIS HANDLED.

MOIST SOUTHEAST FLOW TODAY WILL BRING SIGNIFICANT INSTABILITY INTO
THE NORTHERN COLORADO/SOUTHERN WYOMING VICINITY AND CONVECTION
SHOULD BEGIN HERE BY LATE AFTERNOON. LOW LEVEL JET SHOULD SET UP
OVER EASTERN COLORADO/WESTERN KANSAS TONIGHT ON WEST SIDE OF WEAK
850MB HIGH. THINK MESOSCALE CONVECTIVE SYSTEM WILL MAKE ITS WAY
SOUTH/SOUTHEAST TONIGHT WITH PLENTY OF LOW LEVEL MOISTURE AND SOME
UPPER LEVEL DIFFLUENCE/DIVERGENCE IN PLACE. AVN AND ETA APPEAR TO
AGREE AND PRODUCE CONVECTIVE FEEDBACK VORTICITY MAXIMA OVER AREA.
EXPECT BULK OF PRECIPITATION TO TRAVERSE SOUTH ALONG THE KS/CO
BORDER WITH 850MB EQUIVALENT POTENTIAL TEMPERATURE NOSE AND
BAR0CLINIC ZONE, 700MB 10C TEMP LINE, AND BEST LOW LEVEL INFLOW
HERE. WILL KEEP POPS BELOW LIKELY LEVELS IN THE WEST FOR NOW AND
GRADIENT TO 20 POPS IN THE EAST. WARMING ALOFT SHOULD KEEP ANY
STORMS BELOW SEVERE LEVELS.

DEPENDING ON MCS'S SPEED AND SIZE, MAY SEE SOME LINGERING MORNING
PRECIPITATION ON FRIDAY, BUT WILL KEEP IT DRY AT THIS TIME. UPPER
RIDGING TO CONTINUE TO WARM THE MID LEVELS AND BRING A SLIGHT WARMUP
TO HIGH TEMPS.
