500 MB NORTHWEST WIND FLOW IS FORECASTED TO CONTINUE OVER THE
FORECAST AREA OF NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA THROUGH
THURSDAY. USED THE NGM AND ETA MODELS. THE SURFACE BOUNDARY IN
CENTRAL ILLINOIS IS SLOWLY MOVING SOUTH THIS AFTERNOON. A DEWPOINT
GRADIENT JUST SOUTH OF JOLIET AND THE LAKE BREEZE WAS PRODUCING SOME
TOWERING CUMULUS THIS AFTERNOON IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN COUNTIES
OF OUR FORECAST AREA. IF SHOWERS DEVELOP THEY WOULD BE ISOLATED.

A SECOND FRONT IN LAKE SUPERIOR AND NORTHERN MINNESOTA WILL PUSH
SOUTH. USING THE NGM TIMING THIS FRONT WILL SLOWLY BRING COOLER AIR
INTO OUR FORECAST REGION THROUGH THURSDAY. ALL MOS POPS ARE LOW AND
AT BEST WOULD HAVE SCATTERED TO ISOLATED SHOWERS. WILL KEEP RAIN
OUT. THE FORECAST VERTICAL STRUCTURE OF THE ATMOSPHERE FOR TUESDAY
SHOW LOW CAPE AND -2 TO -3 LIFTED INDICES. THE BEST CHANCE OF
INSTABILITY LOOKS TO BE TUESDAY AFTERNOON. OTHERWISE...INVERSIONS
KEEP THE AIR STABLE THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

A tornado touched down near County Road 400E and 200S destroying a garage and damaging the corner of a roof of a barn. The tornado continued through corn and bean fields and exited Jasper County 12 miles east of Rensselaer and moved into Pulaski County. (See Storm Data for Indiana, Northeast)
