AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LINCOLN IL 810 PM CDT SUN JUN 17 2001 UPDATED THE FORECAST TO REMOVE THE EVENING WORDING AND INCREASE THE CHANCES OF CONVECTION TONIGHT. WEAKENING MCS FROM SE IA/NE MO XPCTD TO TRACK ESE ACROSS CENT IL ERLY TONIGHT ALONG A WEAK BOUNDARY FROM SW IA-XTRM NE MO-ECENT IL. COULD HAVE SOME ISOLATED STRONG STORMS WITH BRIEF WIND GUSTS AND SMALL HAIL...BUT OVERALL WEAKENING TREND INDICATES THAT MAINLY A RAINFALL SITUATION XPCTD TONIGHT. AS A RESULT I INCREASED WENT CATEGORICAL FOR PCPN NORTH OF A RUSHVILLE- BMI LINE...WITH LIKELY TO THE SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST. ADDITIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN SE NEB/SE IA WOULD MAINLY AFFECT LOCALES NORTH OF I-72 LATE TONIGHT/TWD MORNING. BUMPED UP POPS IN ECENT SECTIONS AS REMNANTS TRACK THROUGH TWD MIDNIGHT. WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP THE SE DRY AS THEY ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN CAPPED AND CURRENT CONVECTION XPCTD TO TRACK JUST TO THE NORTH. WILnL MONITOR THIS AREA FOR UPDATES IN CASE THE PCPN DROPS FARTHER SE. .ILX...NONE. MILLER
