The Floyd County Emergency Manager reported that several trees were blown down in a rural area of eastern Floyd county near the Kingston Highway or Georgia Highway 293.
The Polk County Emergency Management Director reported that several small trees were blown down.
A storm spotter reported that a few trees were blown down.
The Cherokee County Emergency Management Director reported that trees and power lines were down. There were several reports of tornadoes in the area, but there was never any confirmation of a touchdown.
The Dawson County Emergency Management Director reported that lightning struck two homes and one business. One home, which sustained approximately $15,000 damage, was located in the extreme western part of the county in the Big Canoe Resort Area. The other home, which sustained approximately $5,000 damage was located about 1 mile south of downtown Dawsonville. The business that was struck was located about 2 miles south of Dawsonville, but sustained no significant damage.
The public reported quarter size hail in Gainesville and a storm spotter reported dime size hail in Clermont.
The Hall County 911 center reported that a home was struck by lightning. A fire resulted, and the house sustained substantial damage.
