Where: Nern P.W. Snd County, 7 mi ENE of Valdez

A glacier dammed lake on the eastern margin of the Valdez Glacier released sometime around midnight on August 15th. Water rose approximately two feet in the eastern channel of the Valdez River. There were some indications that the higher than normal flow moved into an old channel or breached a dike, causing concern to several residents who live along that reach of the river. A bike path was inundated, however there were no other reports of flooding or damage.
