A microburst producing winds of up to 65 MPH pushed across Hempfield Township in Westmoreland County. Roofs were partially blown off several barns. Siding and shingles were also ripped from several homes. Several large pine trees were either snapped or toppled. Many other smaller branches and limbs were also downed, along with numerous power lines. The hardest-hit area was located near the intersection of Buffalo Hill Road and State Route 136. The microburst width was about 350 yards and the length was about one-quarter mile. No injuries were reported. Witnesses reported a brief period (around 30 seconds) of torrential rain and very strong winds.
