Flash Flood, Crawford

Significant flooding occurred in and around Cambridge Springs as a result of heavy thunderstorm rains. Spotters in Cambridge Springs measured 4.25 inches of rain in less than two hours. Water up to two feet deep was reported on area roads and a bridge on State Route 408 just east of Cambridge Springs was damaged by flood waters from a tributary of French Creek. Flood debris plugged many culverts causing several driveways to be washed out. In Cambridge Springs, 42 homes and businesses were damaged by flooding. A local elementary also suffered major flood damage and had to be closed for several days for repairs.
