Wildfire in Oregon, August 5, 2000
A Fire Weather Watch was issued for most of the mountain areas and the east side of the Cascades for the afternoon and evening of 08/05/00, but it was cancelled. However, some thunderstorms did develop later in the day over southwest Klamath county and the Siskiyous (Fire weather zones 621/623).

A Fire Weather Watch was issued for most of the mountain areas and the east side of the Cascades for the afternoon and evening of 08/05/00, but it was cancelled. However, some thunderstorms did develop later in the day over southwest Klamath county and the Siskiyous (Fire weather zones 621/623). Some of the lighting from these storms was likely dry, so a Red Flag Warning would have been appropriate.
