Thunderstorms dumped heavy rains on the Canton area between 11 am and 5 pm. Rainfall measurements ranged from two and one half inches on the north side of Canton to nearly three and one half inches on the east side. Dozens of roads were flooded including some with several feet of water over them. A truck was washed off of a road in Monument Park. Flood waters also washed two cars off of Broadway Avenue. The cars floated several hundred yards before becoming stuck. Firefighters rescued the occupants of all three vehicles. Many other cars were stranded in high water.
