County highways 13, 51 and 49 were flooded following heavy thunderstorm rains. Other roads were also closed and bridges damaged due to flooding. The city water supply became contaminated during the flooding and residents had to boil water before use for several days afterward. One bridge was destroyed on Route 13 and another was undermined on Route 51. Flash flooding along Silver Creek also damaged residences along its banks. A State of Emergency was declared due to the serious nature of the flooding.
