A severe thunderstorm knocked down or sheared the top off from numerous trees in Rosenhayn (Cumberland County) and Parvin State Park (Salem County). The worst property damage occurred in Rosenhayn as trees as large as 100 feet were knocked down.

A severe thunderstorm knocked down or sheared the top off from numerous trees in Rosenhayn (Cumberland County) and Parvin State Park (Salem County). The worst property damage occurred in Rosenhayn as trees as large as 100 feet were knocked down. Most of the trees that were knocked down were either dead or dying. Nonetheless, a couple of homes and vehicles were damaged. One tree punctured the window of one house. A picnic table and lawn furniture were blown through a screened porch. Several corn fields were flattened in Rosenhayn and elsewhere within Deerfield Township. About 7,400 customers lost power, most were restored by 4 p.m. EDT on the 8th.
