Lightning Strike in New Jersey, August 7, 2000
A 57-year-old man was critically injured when he was struck by lightning in the Doranne Lane Neighborhood in Middletown Township. He was jogging when he apparently saw the threatening weather and started back for home.

A 57-year-old man was critically injured when he was struck by lightning in the Doranne Lane Neighborhood in Middletown Township. He was jogging when he apparently saw the threatening weather and started back for home. Lightning apparently struck him near his head and walkman. The walkman was blasted from his head with its circuit boards melted. He was found unconscious and bleeding with his clothes torn and singe marks on his neck.
