Heavy rain fell during the afternoon of July 5 and again that night with rainfall estimated by radar to be in the 4 to 6 inch range. This heavy rainfall caused Taylor Creek east of Madison to flood which closed highway 32. Other than the highway, flooding was mainly confined to agricultural lowlands.
