Flooding in Missouri, June 24 to 29, 2000
Complexes of thunderstorms dropped up to 6 inches of rain on sections of northwest Missouri on June 23. Extensive minor to moderate river flooding occurred, and the situation was aggravated by another complex of storms on June 25, which produced additional heavy rainfall.

Complexes of thunderstorms dropped up to 6 inches of rain on sections of northwest Missouri on June 23. Extensive minor to moderate river flooding occurred, and the situation was aggravated by another complex of storms on June 25, which produced additional heavy rainfall. Minor flooding was reported on the Platte River near Agency, Sharps Station, and Platte City, the Grand River near Chillicothe, the Missouri River at St. Joseph, and the 102 River near Maryville. Several sites experienced moderate flooding. The 102 River near Rosendale crested on June 26 at 19.97 feet, about 2 feet above flood stage. Flood waters nearly surrounded the town of Rosendale. The South Grand River near Urich crested at 26.8 feet, 2.8 feet above flood stage, and the Grand River near Sumner crested on the 25th at 30.4 feet, more than 4 feet above flood stage.
