Thunderstorm rains estimated in excess of 2 inches per hour caused major road flooding in and around Marion. Roads were impassable to small vehicles due to high water. In Marion, over a foot of water on the main street flooded out a police cruiser responding to an alarm. A utility truck reported 2 feet of water over a road on the south end of Marion that doesn't normally flood.
