Thunderstorms moved through Tama County shortly after midnight. Though the thunderstorms were not severe, lightning caused damage. The Tama County Courthouse in Toledo was struck by lightning. Damage within the building was estimated to be at least $60,000. Most of the damage was to electrical equipment.
