Damaging Winds in Illinois, June 14, 2000
Thunderstorms developed over Kankakee and Iroquois counties, rapidly intensifying and producing a large gust front. Three miles east of Kankakee, at the intersection of Interstate 57 and Highway 17, three semi tractor-trailers were overturned from the strong winds.

Thunderstorms developed over Kankakee and Iroquois counties, rapidly intensifying and producing a large gust front. Three miles east of Kankakee, at the intersection of Interstate 57 and Highway 17, three semi tractor-trailers were overturned from the strong winds. Roof damage was reported to buildings near the intersection. In the city of Kankakee an area two blocks by six blocks was closed due to downed trees. In Governor Small Memorial Park fifty trees were uprooted, with damage reported to the Governor Small Museum. Numerous trees and power lines were also blown down in the community of Clifton, as well as Crescent City where a large canopy over a gas station also received damage.
