A man and woman were rescued at the mouth of the Piti Channel. The couple were swept out to sea by breaking waves as they tried to cross the channel.

A man and woman were rescued at the mouth of the Piti Channel. The couple were swept out to sea by breaking waves as they tried to cross the channel. A 911 call was received at 1225. The two were brought back to shore and were treated for minor injuries and exhaustion.The strong waves were caused by swells moving through the area. These swells were generated by a strong storm that was in the vicinity of Japan on the 14th and 15th of the month.
