Lightning strikes ignited two fires in Sussex County during the early morning of the 15th. In Broadkill Hundred, lightning struck the eaves of a two story home on Sussex County Route 319.

Lightning strikes ignited two fires in Sussex County during the early morning of the 15th. In Broadkill Hundred, lightning struck the eaves of a two story home on Sussex County Route 319. The fire damaged the attic and upper floor of the home and knocked a hole in the roof. In Broad Creek Hundred, a shed on Haven Drive burst into flames after being struck by lightning. In both places, no serious injuries were reported.
