Flood in Delaware, August 13, 2000
The combination of a weak onshore flow from a nearly stationary low pressure system off the Delmarva Peninsula and the spring astronomical tides by the full moon caused some minor tidal flooding around the time of high tide Sunday evening the 13th. 7 feet above mean lower low water, the level at which minor tidal flooding usually starts.

The combination of a weak onshore flow from a nearly stationary low pressure system off the Delmarva Peninsula and the spring astronomical tides by the full moon caused some minor tidal flooding around the time of high tide Sunday evening the 13th. The high tide at Lewes reached 6.7 feet above mean lower low water, the level at which minor tidal flooding usually starts. By Monday morning the 14th, the low pressure system had weakened and started to move toward Cape Cod.
