Heavy rains from a nearly stationary cluster of thunderstorms dumped as much as 3.5 inches of rain in parts of Odessa. Most of the city received in excess of 1 inch. Numerous streets became flooded, cars were stranded, and even a few houses became flooded. In the worst areas, some cars were even washed into drainage ditches, but fortunately no injuries were reported.
