Heavy thunderstorm rains amounting to between one and two inches produced widespread urban and arroyo flooding on the east side of El Paso. There were numerous reports of stranded vehicles. Several vehicles were washed into a ravine in the lower valley. There were no injuries.

Heavy rains produced by a series of thunderstorms caused localized urban and arroyo flooding. A 50 year old transient man was swept away and killed by surging waters while taking refuge in a drainage tunnel near the intersection of Sunland Park Road and Mesa Street.
