For the second day in a row another large forest fire started within Lacey Township in Ocean County. This one began around 11 p.m. EDT about one mile north of the Cedar Bridge Fire Tower off of County Route 539. The fire was contained at 6 p.m. EDT the next day, but not before 70 acres were burned. The unusually dry weather continued to exacerbate fire conditions throughout the state.
