During light rain following a thunderstorm, lightning struck, ignited and damaged parts of a home and workshop on Park Street in Tampa. Lightning initially struck an outdoor workshop and blew out chunks of driveway concrete as the charge travelled through underground wires to the home. The lightning charge then travelled through the homes interior wiring where it terminated in a bedroom wire mesh ceiling. The charge caused a portion of the wire mesh ceiling to explode and ignite a small fire within the home.
