An area of low pressure moved across southern Canada. During the afternoon and evening, the associated cold front extended across northern portions of Vermont and New York. Thunderstorms developed along and ahead of the front. In Washington county, numerous trees and power lines were blown down in the towns of Duxbury, Waitsfield and Northfield.
