In the wake of the storm in Tulsa on the early morning of June 21, about 25,000 PSO customers in Tulsa remained without electricity on Monday evening, June 22. The loss of air conditioning left many people vulnerable to afternoon temperatures of 96 degrees and heat indices in excess of 105 degrees. Local hospitals reported about half of a dozen cases of heat-related illnesses on June 22.
