A weak tornado touched down about four miles west of Marion and remained on the ground for a short time. A garage and two barns were destroyed and a large shed was badly damaged. Numerous trees and power lines were downed and some minor damage occurred to several homes in the area. Most of the damage appeared to be caused by an intense microburst, which accompanied the tornado. Winds were estimated at 80 to 90 miles per hour.
