A nearly stationary cluster of thunderstorms produced excessive rainfall over a small part of New Madrid County. The heaviest rainfall occurred just east of New Madrid in the New Madrid Bend area along the Mississippi River. However, amounts as high as 2 inches per hour in the city of New Madrid resulted in minor street flooding.
