The episode as NWS DMX wrote it up.
Low pressure swept northeast across Iowa and brought heavy rainfall to the state. Thunderstorms were widespread, however there was little in the way of severe weather. During the early afternoon, a line of thunderstorms formed on the nose of the dry slot. These storms moved rapidly, around 40 MPH, to the northeast and produced very heavy rain and gusty winds as they passed. One of the cells bowed out as it moved through Jasper County. High winds were reported with numerous trees and power lines down. Winds were strong enough to blow out windows out of several homes west of Colfax. Damage also occurred over the northeast part of Jasper County, with some minor damage as far north as Marshalltown in Marshall County.
