The Polk County Emergency Management reported a tornado, associated with an outer band of Hurricane Georges, touched down and toppled trees and power lines on Payne Road. The tornado continued northwest and damaged two barns and blew a trailer off its foundation at Deeson and Greenfield Roads before it lifted and dissipated.
