A 800+ acre wildfire (through the merging of three separate fires), the "Hot Water Fire", located at intersection of CR 388 West and SH 77 North near Southport forced the mandatory evacuation of 150 residents in the Newpoint subdivision of Southport. A voluntary evacuation was implemented for areas east of SH 77, north of Deer Point Dam Rd, west of Resota Beach Rd and south of Edwards Rd. A Fire Supression Grant was awarded. Four air tankers, DOF and Bay County FD battled the blazes.
