August was on the dry side again, it was one of the driest August since 1967 (in the top 4). Rainfall in August totalled 1.59 inches or 5.12 inches below the normal of 6.71 at WSO-Pago Pago. Brief relief from the drought came at the end of the month with a storm total of 1.04 inches on the 31st and September 1.
