Severe thunderstorms occurred across the northwest portions of the South Plains and over the extreme southwest Texas Panhandle. Large hail fell over Parmer and Lamb Counties during the evening. The Friona Police Department reported up to 2" diameter hail in Friona. The Lamb County Sheriff's Office reported golfball-sized hail at several locations in the county. The thunderstorms moved south southeast and weakened, but still produced dime-sized hail in Levelland (reported by the public) and 55 knot winds in Brownfield. The Brownfield emergency manager reported a barn was damaged by the high wind.
