Heavy rain led to many road closures in the area as cars and even motor homes were swept off the highways and county roads. Many farmers lost hay and some cattle were reported missing. The Texas Department of Transportation called in Flood Crews to repair washed-out roads. Rain totals exceeded 12 inches causing area businesses, homes and apartment complexes to be evacuated. The American Red Cross had to be called in to open shelters for flood victims.
