Isolated severe thunderstorms developed in northeast and east central Oklahoma during the afternoon of June 27th. Strong thunderstorm winds downed numerous large tree limbs 7 miles southeast of Sallisaw, and thunderstorm winds gusted to 60 miles an hour in Cleora. Dime to nickel size hail fell at Inola. The storms also produced very heavy rainfall which resulted in flash flooding just east of Inola. Old Highway 33 was covered by high water, and nearby ditches overflowed.
