Persistent heavy rainfall of over 10 inches in less than 36 hours caused the Ohio Brush Creek to rise rapidly out its banks. The river crested at 31.0 feet which is the second highest stage on record and the highest since 1962. More than 20 miles of State Rte 348 were covered and Routes 32 and 41 outside of Peebles were flooded. Also, water flooded onto State Rte 125 near West Union. Numerous homes and farms were flooded.
