A squall line of severe thunderstorms knocked down scores of trees and wires throughout Hunterdon County. One tree fell on and seriously injured a person. A SKYWARN Spotter reported a measured wind gust of 60 mph in Flemington. The hardest hit locations included Clinton, Flemington, Glen Gardner, Quakertown, Raritan and Ringoes. This squall line caused numerous power outages throughout the northern half of New Jersey as falling trees took down electrical wires. About 97,000 GPU customers lost power that day.
