Hail in Texas, June 2, 1996
Hail as large as 4 inches in diameter pummeled the western third of Gaines county, destoying an estimated 80,000 to 90,000 acres of crops that included cotton, peanuts, and chile peppers. The windshield of a Seminole Fire Department truck was broken by the large hail while the firemen were out spotting the storm.
